Hurricane Ida Recovery: Commercial Project Spotlight

On August 29th, 2021, Hurricane Ida made landfall as a Category 4 Hurricane in Port Fourchon, Louisiana, causing significant damages throughout the state. The most severely affected areas were our coastal communities including Houma, LaPlace, Lockport, Grand Isle, and New Orleans. Dozens of SERVPRO franchises and large loss disaster recovery teams rushed in from all over the country to lend a hand in helping Louisiana homeowners and business owners recover.
While our team focused primarily on storm damage recovery throughout the Northshore, we did complete storm damage mitigation projects on the Southshore as well. One of our commercial clients in LaPlace incurred flood water and debris throughout their 4,000 square foot office. Upon notice of loss, our team quickly responded to begin mitigation. Our storm mitigation team removed all affected drywall, carpet flooring, and insulation. We applied an antimicrobial agent to the remaining structure and utilized professional drying and dehumidification equipment to prevent future damages while running air scrubbers to filter the air. The mitigation process was complete in one week. Our customer was thrilled we were able to get them ready for rebuild faster than any other business on their block!
